Is anyone else freaked out by the KGB (the Knowledge Generation Bureau)? They appear to be a group of rogue reference librarians who now advertise on primetime television. Their information page is located here: http://www.kgb.com/about/mission. They claim that, "our mission is to convert all the information out ‘there' into knowledge." This opens up many debatable questions, like "But isn't this still just information?" or "How is this different than an unholy union between Wikipedia and Google?" They do after all host a conventional search engine and user-created "Knowledge". What is unique is that it can be accessed by text-message so in theory you can get movie times or the dietary information for your Whopper on the fly, but with so many web-enabled phones, is this really necessary? Whose knowledge are you getting?
